FIND THE RIGHT SERVICE FOR YOU
In Person
Choose this service if:
- You would like IRS-certified volunteers to prepare and file your federal and state tax returns all in the same day.
- Your household earned $64,000 or less in 2023.
- You have a more complicated tax return.
- You can remain in-person while your taxes are prepared. This process can range from 45 minutes to a few hours depending on the complexity of the tax return and how busy the site is.
What to bring:
- A completed intake form. Please print the form and bring it with you to save time.
- Photo ID
- Social Security card or ITIN for you and every member of your household
- Income tax documents
- Prior year tax return highly recommended for tax year 2022
- If directly depositing your refund: Bank routing and account number
- If filing a joint return, your spouse needs to be present

- Self-Employed Checklist – Use this checklist to accurately file your return as a sole proprietor or contractor

Drop Off
Choose this service if:
- You have a busy schedule and would prefer to leave your tax documents at a designated location for an IRS-certified volunteer to complete.
- You can do a quick 20-minute interview upon drop off.
- You can pick up your completed tax return at the same location the following week or review it over the phone. Clients who review by phone must e-sign before their return can be electronically filed.
What to bring:

- Contact phone number or email
- Prior year tax return highly recommended for tax year 2022

Do It Yourself (With Help)
Choose this service if:
- You have a simple tax return.
- You would prefer to prepare your tax return online using free and secure software that walks you through the process. An IRS-certified volunteer is available to assist you.
- You have access to a computer and the internet.
- You have 1 to 2 hours of time (estimated time for simple tax returns).
What You’ll Need:
- Fill out this form to see if you qualify and get started.
- Income tax documents
- Your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) from last year (required if filing electronically)
- Bank routing and account number (if directly depositing your refund)
- Your email address and phone number to complete the two-factor authentication process

- Self-Employed Checklist – Use this checklist to accurately file your return as a sole proprietor or contractor
Remote
Choose this service if:
- Your household earned $64,000 or less in 2023.
- You are unable to visit an in-person tax site.
- You have access to a computer and the internet.
We have teamed up with GetYourRefund.org to help you file your taxes online with the help of IRS-certified volunteers. You should expect your tax return to be completed in a week’s time.
How it works:
- Visit GetYourRefund.org.
- Choose “File my own taxes,” or “Have my taxes prepared for me.”
- Complete the steps to file your federal and state tax returns.
What You’ll Need:
- Email address
- Social Security card or ITIN for you and every member of your household
- State ID, driver’s license or passport
- Income tax documents
- Prior year tax return highly recommended for tax year 2022
- Bank routing and account number (if directly depositing your refund)

If you plan on filing a joint tax return, our IRS-certified volunteers must witness both you and your spouse sign a form granting us permission to electronically file your return. Your spouse does not need to be present while the return is being prepared, only when signing the form. Please contact our team for assistance if your spouse is unable to come to the tax site.
- Direct deposit: You should see your refund in your bank account two to three weeks after your return is accepted.
- Check: You should receive a mailed check four to six weeks after your return is accepted.

Precise times vary depending on the complexity of a return and how busy a tax site is. The following is an estimate:
